If your product key is not working, please follow the steps below before contacting support.
Most activation issues happen because the wrong product version is installed, the activation guide was not followed, or the product has region restrictions.
1. Check the Product Page Description
First, go back to the product page and read the description carefully.
The product description may include:
- Activation guide
- Download instructions
- Region restrictions
- Platform details
- Account requirements
- Important product notes
Please follow the activation guide from the product description exactly.
2. Make Sure the Key Matches the Correct Product
Your key must match the exact product you are trying to activate.
For example:
- A Windows 11 Pro key works only with Windows 11 Pro
- An Office 2021 key works only with the correct Office 2021 version
- A Steam key must be activated on Steam
- A region-locked game key must be activated in the correct country or region
3. For Windows Keys
If you purchased a Windows key, make sure the installed Windows edition matches the key.
For example:
- Windows Pro key = Windows Pro installed
- Windows Home key = Windows Home installed
To check your Windows edition:
Windows 11
Go to:
Settings > System > Activation
Windows 10
Go to:
Settings > Update & Security > Activation
If the edition does not match, the key may not work.
4. For Office Keys
If you purchased an Office key, make sure you follow the guide provided after delivery or the instructions from the product description.
Also check that:
- You installed the correct Office version
- Older Office versions were removed
- You are using the correct installer
- The key is entered exactly as shown
For Office LTSC products, please follow the installation guide carefully, especially if the guide requires Command Prompt and a configuration file.
5. For Game Keys
If you purchased a game key, make sure:
- You are using the correct platform
- Your account region matches the product region
- The product is not region locked for your country
- You are entering the key in the correct activation page
- The key is typed exactly as shown
Please check the product title and description for region information before activation.
6. Restart and Try Again
If everything looks correct, restart your device and try again.
Also check that:
- Your internet connection is working
- VPN or proxy is turned off
- The software or platform is updated
- There are no extra spaces before or after the key
