If your Windows key appears as invalid, please check the steps below before contacting support.
1. Make Sure You Installed the Correct Windows Edition
Your Windows key must match the Windows edition installed on your PC.
For example:
- A Windows Pro key works only with Windows Pro
- A Windows Home key works only with Windows Home
- A Windows 11 Pro key will not activate Windows 11 Home
2. How to Check Your Windows Edition
Windows 11
- Open Settings
- Go to System
- Select Activation
- Check the Windows edition displayed on the page
Windows 10
- Open Settings
- Go to Update & Security
- Select Activation
- Check the Windows edition displayed on the page
Make sure the edition shown there is the same as the product you purchased.
3. Use the Key After Windows Is Installed
We recommend entering the product key after Windows has been fully installed, not during the installation process.
During installation, you can select:
I don’t have a product key
After Windows is installed, activate it manually.
Windows 11
Go to:
Settings > System > Activation > Change product key
Windows 10
Go to:
Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change product key
Then enter your Windows key.
4. Contact Support If the Key Still Does Not Work
If you already checked that:
- The installed Windows edition matches the key you purchased
- You entered the key after Windows was fully installed
…and the key still appears as invalid, please contact our support team.
Please include:
- Your order number
- A screenshot of the activation error
- A screenshot showing your Windows edition
Our human support agents will check your case and provide a replacement if needed.
